Meanwhile, it got around that point clouds can be processed in every software due to PointCab. Today, we up the ante! In cooperation with the company OrthoGraph, we want to make you ware of the architecture software OrthoGraph.

With OrthoGraph, you can create whole 3D models at the iPad and transfer them directly in the architecture software ArchiCAD at a later date. Of course, the exchange format *.dwg provides a good possibility to transfer the results in AutoCad or SketchUp.

How can laser scanning results be used in OrthoGraph?

The idea is quite simple. You create a layout by using PointCab and transfer it to the iPad via DropBox. In OrthoGraph, the layout can be saved as a background and, thus, serves as a basis for scaled drawings.

The architect doesn't need to deal with millions of points or gigabytes of data anymore on site since he has the layout directly at his iPad.

PointCab embarks on a new way once more: Use laser scanning data at the iPad – quite easily.

In this regard, we want to make you aware of the new post in our forum. There, you can ask all questions on the subject of OrthoGraph. Click here for the forum.

In our new tutorial, we show how you can use the PointCab results (ortho photos) in OrthoGraph in order to create a floor plan: https://www.laserscanning-europe.com/en/tv/orthograph/tutorial-pointcab-results-orthograph.
