3D documentation
3D documentation describes a process in which real objects are captured by means of technical equipment (e. g. total stations, digital cameras, laser scanners). If objects are surveyed by a 3D laser scanner, scan data in the form of point clouds or meshes is created. In special software solutions, the measurement results are converted into a digital 3D model. Corresponding to the needs, software systems for GIS (geographic information system), CAD (computer-aided design) or BIM (Building information Modeling) scan be used.
