Good day

can somebody inform me how I can load point clouds in Navisworks?
It seems that you can load a existing 3D model in Navisworks and combine this with point clouds.
In this way you can see where the clashs will be if for exemple a pipe will added to the existing production line.

thanks

Point-Clouds in NavisWorks

Hello Lisbeth,
NavisWorks can open 41 different file formats.
NavisWorks can also migrate this files. For this reason open one file and append (strg+A) the next one. You may need to change the file-type in the open dialog.
You will see the different migrated files in the NW-structure-tree.
You can save the complete NW-Model as an nwf-file. In this case the different files are references and updated automatic after the next start of NW.
You can also save the model as an nwd-file. In this case you can see the model with the free of charge FREEDOM-viewer. NWD´s are very small. They can easily be send by email.
I hope this answers your question.
Andreas
