Laserscanning Europe presents PointCab at SPAR Europe in Amsterdam

Eike Thiele, CEO of Laserscanning Europe, presented the ways and means for an effective analysis and interpretation of laser scanning projects at the international laser scanning conference sPAR Europe in Amsterdam. Especially the numerous solutions for the analysis and interpretation of industrial tasks were part of the technical lecture. These tasks include, for instance, the replacement of an old, flawed column in an existing plant by an identical replica or even as-built documentations. Obsolete shop drawings usually exist just in paper form and in 2D. Moreover, building refurbishments are rarely recorded. Thus, the use of laser scanners has proven to be worthwhile for a variety of tasks.

For measurements, customers expect rapid results including all important details. People analysing and interpreting the data need the results and also refer them to business partners. All involved parties need to use the scan results in their own CAD system. But there are different CAD systems available for different applications.

That is why the adavantages of the software PointCab were presented. With PointCab, 3D data can be processed in any common CAD system. Thus, it becomes possible to edit entire laser scanning projects in an unbelievable short period of time and, consequently, to operate very cost-effectively. A further advantage is the working in a 3D environment since different layouts and sectional views can be fully automatically generated and extracted. Thus, PointCab revolutionises the analysis and interpretation of laser scanning data.

Conference attendees were amazed by the manifold possibilities. The interest of the audience was aroused. Afterwards, the Laserscanning Europe team held numerous technical discussions on the software PointCab.
