Leica HDS8400

Leica HDS8400 is a 3D laser scanner from the company Leica Geosystems and allows scanning at a very wide range of up to 1.000m (39370 in). In mining, a maximum range of 700m (at least 80% albedo) is possible for limestone, 500m (19685 in) (at least 40% albedo) for iron ore and concrete and 250m (9842 in) for coal. The measurements are made at a speed of 8.800 points/second. Leica HDS8400 has an integrated dual-axis compensator and a digital compass. The laser scanner is operated via an integrated touch screen or a tablet PC.
