Were looking at getting the Aluminum Telescope Tripod FARO Focus 3D and Trimble TX5 (http://shop.laserscanning-europe.com/Aluminum-Telescope-Tripod-FARO-Focu...) and I was wondering if the Laser Scanner Tripod Dolly (http://shop.laserscanning-europe.com/Laser-Scanner-Tripod-Dolly) worked with this or if the dolly only works for normal tripods.

The tripod dolly is suited for all tripods (wooden tripods, aluminum tripods and also carbon tripods). The tripod dolly has 3 contact surfaces with a kind of clamp with which you can fix the feet of the tripod. Thus, the tripod dolly is universally applicable. Further more, it can be folded up easily. With 67cm x 33cm x 23cm, the pack size is very convenient.
But there are two restraints:
1. The load capacity of 60kg must not be exceeded. But if you use only a scanner, this issue shouldn't be a problem.
2. For overhead scanning in shafts or the like, this tripod dolly cannot be used because of its construction. Next month, we will offer a further tripod dolly which can be used for overhead application.
