Ending of the season at Frohburger Triangle

Hey friends of Laserscanning Europe Road Racing,

The Road Racing followers met at Frohbruger Triangle near Leipzig for the last race of this year's IRRC championship. It was Schmiddel's last chance to collect points in order to finally move up by one or more places.

Beside regular IRRC races, Christian was also registered for the Open race. On Saturday, he tested fiddled about the perfect set-up for the race track. Unfortunately, the race weekend started everything but perfect on Saturday morning. Christian had a highside; he had bruises and the motorbike showed serious damage. The team of mechanics carried out repairs within 45 minutes. During the following first rase (Open race) at this weekend, Schmiddel got 7th rank - thus he got top ten position.

On Sunday morning, there was the first IRRC race. Inspite of the great starting position, the race was tricky and he ranked in the lower middle of the list. The entire set-up did not stay as it seemed to be. During each braking, the bike started to swerve fiercely. As a result of these numerous troubles, Schmiddel couldn't achieve any points in the first race.

Then, we decided to skip the Open race at noon and to work on the bike. We modified engine mapping and chassis geometry. Moreover we replaced tires although they still seemed to be OK. Optimized due to these modifications, we started the last race - the second and last IRRC race. Modifications of the bike were successful; Schmiddel could ride along in the front midfield. There were permanent battles for positions over the course of the entire race distance. On the finishing straight, Christian finally achieved a very great 8th position in Frohburg. He completed this year's IRRC series with 14 th position overall.

Many thanks to all supporters and fans. We are looking forward to the next term and will restart highly motivated.
