FARO User Meeting

Laserscanning Europe GmbH was represented at FARO User Meeting from 22nd to 23rd May 2012 in Zurich (Switzerland). At the meeting on the subject of 3D documentation, CEO Eike Thiele informed the attendees about the company and the laser scanning software PointCab.

Laserscanning Europe added two new modules to the efficient laser scanning software PointCab and took the opportunity to introduce the new features.

PointCab WebExport HTML

With the WebExport HTML, PointCab clients can create an interactive panorama tour which can be provided for the client via CD-ROM, USB flash drive and all other removable media. Due to the easy handling and the possibility to use results without web server, the WebExport is an interesting alternative to other solutions, such as FARO’s WebShare or Leica’s TruView. Of course, the result can be presented online, too. As an extra feature, the tour can be used on all mobile devices, such as iPhone, iPad and other tablet PCs. You find an example here:

Furthermore, the integrated PDF export provides the possibility to export your laser scanning project to a PDF file. Thus, you focus on one of the most common data exchange formats. You can decide according to the requirements if you send your project by e-mail, look at it on your iPad or print or plot it true to scale. With this new feature, we managed again to set new standards for the handling and interpretation of laser scanning data.

PointCab Volume tool

As a further module, we presented our first premium tool. In a few steps, the volume tool calculates the volume of mines and mounds. A more precise introduction of the new tool will happen soon.
