FARO Technologies, a leading company for 3D laser scanners, invites to its European User Meeting in Switzerland. The event is going to take place on 22nd and 23rd May in Zurich.

Laserscanning Europe will present the latest developments of the software PointCab at this leading meeting for 3D documentation.

PointCab – Easiness is our incentive

PointCab has been reworked basically to respond to the capabilities of multi-core processors.

You have a project and want to rent PointCab for a limited period? That is no problem with our rental service for PointCab.

Apart from Faro, Leica PTG, PTX, Riegl V-Line, we also support your ZF project data as of now.

PointCab will be delivered in different languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Russian).

PointCab Web export - HTML and PDF

In the revised web export tool, you generate HTML documents from laser scanner data at the push of a button. These HTML documents are compatible with common web browsers and can be used on the iPad/iPhone and other mobile devices. Due to the smoothly zoomable general plans and the high-resolution panoramas of the scanner positions, you and your clients quickly and easily get access to the scan data. The measurement of distances and surfaces in the layout is available, of course. The time-consuming installing of special web services is not required.

Moreover, you can quickly and easily generate PDF documents out of your laser scanning project for your project documentation or presentation.

PointCab DXF and Collada export

Apart from the PointCab project file, two further export formats for easy import in your CAD system are generated for the created layouts and sectional views. With DXF, an exchange format supported by many CAD systems is at your disposal. With the Collada format initiated by Kronos Group, we already support this promising technology. The Collada format is establishing as a new standard for 3D data. With Collada, you can easily import your PointCab results in Google SketchUp (now Trimble), 3dMax, Maya, Blender and many other systems.

The new tools will be available with PointCab soon. Due to the modular concept, all tools can be acquired individually at a later date. Start with the layout and section tool, now.
