Today on, we launch a new product: the Forensic set for determining the line of fire. In forensic science, the Forensic set is a tool for determining the trajectory of a projectile and the shooter’s position.
After having received a request, we developed our high-quality Forensic set for the German police. The set is suited for bullet holes of the calibers 28 and 40. Simply push a rigid and very lightweight rod with two fixed reference spheres into the bullet hole and scan the crime scene with a 3D laser scanner. The centers of the spheres, which are fixed to the rod, serve as reference points. Since the rod passes exactly through the spheres’ axis, you only have to elongate the line through the centers in order to determine the possible line of fire. Thus, the Forensic set makes your investigations easier. If you have at least two bullet holes, you can even detect the shooters position.
