The 300 race track curves of Horice

Back from 300 race track curves of Gustav Havel in Czech Horice

As my loyal fans already know, my start to the season 2016 was anything but good. A lot of misfortune and especially technical problems and falls in the races' hurly-burly always foiled good rankings.

At the weekend in Horice, the curse should finally come to an end!!!

The weather was perfect and the atmosphere at the drivers' paddock was exuberant. Numerous fans nearly lined the 5.1km long race track non-stop. Needless to say, there was usual bustle at the beer stands in the woods of the mountainous race track. The Czech are true motor-racing enthusiasts.

After the first qualifying, my team and I had to be satisfied with a 2.28.400 lap and an eighth place. But I knew that the other riders would still notch up their performance in the second qualifying. In the first qualifying, the chassis didn't already fit and the tail came out to each corner. We modified damping to be better equipped for the second qualifying.

At the beginning of the second qualifying, I coped with a lot of traffic; this made it difficult to set a good time. However, I had a great lap and improved my time to 2.25.937. Thus, I achieved a significantly better time than last year. Once the lap time had been set, the second qualifying was aborted because of a fall. As a consequence, I started the race from position number 10. Other riders had nearly the similar lap time as I had. An exciting race was bound to occur.

In secret, I hoped to get a better position but the other riders didn't distribute gifts that day; they also showed strong performance on the asphalt. I could complete the race on the technically demanding race track with position 10 - Thus, I succeeded the first time this year: top 10.

I'd like to thank my sponsors and everyone who supports me.
