Virtual Reality reconstruction of crime scenes based on laser scanning data

Dear laser scanning community,

Virtual Reality not only becomes more and more important in the gaming world. Even in the field of public security (police/forensics), laser scanning data can be used to reconstruct crimes and crash scenes in order to guarantee a better and more precise inspection in the aftermath. Laser scanners are applied for documentation of the crash or crime scene. Later on, the captured 3D point clouds are converted into virtual reality by means of special software solutions.

The following video shows the reconstruction of the crime scene of the Tunisian assassin who has taken life of 38 people in Riu Imperial Marhaba Resort (Tunisia) in January 2015.
