Human being is used to describe objects with length x width x height. This approach has been implemented in all CAD solutions. There, we find top view, front view and side view. In addition, there is the isometric view serving as visualization.
PointCab has the same approach. Information is compressed to the essential views. If you use these views for drawing, you get a 3D model again.Here is another link for CAD.
