Laser scanning and Autodesk Revit

PointCab to revolutionize laser scanning data analysis

Laserscanning Europe offers its customers an intuitive software that makes it possible to use laser scanning data with different CAD programs (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp). Laser scanning is a very efficient and time-saving alternative when compared to conventional methods. And from now on, it can be used with Autodesk Revit.

Building Information Modeling and Autodesk Revit

Autodesk Revit Architecture is a software solution that simplifies Building Information Modeling (BIM). When using BIM architects and engineers can efficiently plan, document and create their designs and constructions. Having the virtual model at their fingertips, they model and design buildings with ease and precision. Different building phases will be simulated, and collision detections may be performed before project planning has started.

Using laser scanning data in Revit

By applying the Crystal Clear View Technology, PointCab creates a crystal clear representation of the obtained laser scanning data. Top views, sectional views and other views are automatically created and can be easily imported into Revit. It is of no significance whether it is a single scan project or an entire laser scanning project. Moreover, PointCab offers an intuitive user interface that requires no training.

A very notable feature of PointCab is the fact that the obtained laser scanning data is analyzed in a way that all CAD systems can interpret. That way, the user can import results generated by PointCab into their preferred CAD system... and use it. There is absolutely no need to use another CAD solution and have the staff trained. The preferred CAD system can be used, which ensures a smooth working process.
