RIEGL presents the new laser scanner, the VZ-4000. The VZ-4000 has a maximum scanning range of 4,000 meters and captures up to 222,000 points per second.

In April, the laser scanner VZ-4000 has been introduced on a tour ranging from Chile to Russia. RIEGL mining expert Thomas Gaisecker, applied the new laser scanner on mines in Chile and in Siberia. The long-range scanner proved itself as an efficient instrument for surveying and monitoring in mountainous regions and open-pit mining. In open pit mines, the scanner even managed surveying 4,000 meters above the sea level.

Furthermore, Thomas Gaisecker presented the VZ-4000 in demo applications at mining events, such as EXPOMIN in Santiago (Chile) and INTEREXPO GEO Siberia.
