Scantra 3.5: New Features for Kinematic Laser Scanning Workflows
TitleNew possibilities with Scantra 3.5
With Scantra 3.5, a new version of the registration software is now available. The update introduces several improvements for processing kinematic laser scanning data, along with new features for SLAM, point clouds, and existing Leica and FARO workflows.
TitleNew Adaptive SLAM Solution
One of the key new features in Scantra 3.5 is the adaptive SLAM solution. Cut boundaries can now be flexibly defined during processing. This makes it possible to isolate SLAM anomalies or place virtual scan positions in complex areas.
In addition, point cloud sections can now be visualized, making it easier to evaluate processing settings and identify areas that require closer inspection.
TitleImprovements for Multi-LiDAR Systems
The processing of data from kinematic scanners equipped with multiple LiDAR sensors has also been enhanced. For systems such as the Gexcel HERON MS TWIN or Viametris MS-96, multiple point clouds can now be assigned to a single trajectory.
TitleExtended Leica and FARO Workflows
Scantra 3.5 also introduces new options for workflows with Leica Register 360. Projects can be imported and subsequently updated using the transformation parameters calculated in Scantra.
The FARO interface has also been expanded. Manually selected points from FARO SCENE can now be transferred to Scantra. In addition, colorized E57 files can be exported based on FARO data.
TitleFurther Improvements in Scantra 3.5
In addition to the new features, the graphics window and browsers have been further optimized to make everyday work with Scantra more efficient. Version 3.5 also introduces a new Scantra logo and application icon.
