FARO launches its first fully integrated mobile indoor scanning solution: the FARO Focus Swift. The Focus Swift extends the functionality and flexibility of the high accuracy FARO FocusS 3D laser lcanner by combining the 3D laser scanner with the 2D mapper FARO ScanPlan and a mobile trolley solution. This mobile "upgrade" is designed to enable large scale indoor as-built surveys with minimal time and effort. Thanks to the mobile solution, the user is able to capture as-built information faster without having to set up the scanner at different locations.
According to the manufacturer, depending on the accuracy requirements, the user is able to capture complex areas with the mobile system up to 10 times faster than with conventional static scans. The FARO Scene software automatically processes the data from the Focus laser scanner and the ScanPlan mapper into 3D point clouds. The scan results can be imported into any CAD system thanks to various standard output formats allowing the Scan-2-BIM workflow to be optimized.
The Focus Swift is an exciting solution for users who already use FARO Focus laser scanners and need to perform precise indoor scans in large objects. The Focus Swift's intuitive, user-friendly functionality and wireless operation allows users to work faster and smarter while achieving higher quality scanning results. The user can see in real-time on any mobile device which areas have already been scanned.
