From version 6.1.3, Dot3D offers the option of exporting true-to-scale and georeferenced orthophotos in GeoTIFF format directly from the app. This new export function perfectly complements Dot3D's already extensive 3D export options.
While full 3D data is still crucial for many workflows, in some cases a precise, two-dimensional image is sufficient - especially if it is correctly scaled and georeferenced. This is exactly where the new GeoTIFF export function comes in and enables a quick, simple 2D data extract, ideal for mapping, documentation or GIS-supported applications, for example.

The latest version of Autodesk ReCap Pro 2026 introduces a powerful feature: the almost automated mesh process directly from Dot3D scans. The upcoming video tutorial will show step-by-step how to import DotProduct data and create a versatile, high-resolution mesh with just a few clicks.
The tutorial not only provides an overview of the current DP import process, but also demonstrates the new one-click meshing function in action.
