Maptek I-Site 8800

Maptek I-Site 8800 is a 3D laser scanner manufactured by the company Maptek Pty Limited and uses the time-of-flight measurement method. The scanner provides a maximum measuring speed of 8,800 points/second. At a field of view of 360° (horizontal) x 80° (vertical), Maptek I-Site 8800 allows a range of up to 2,000m (78,740.16 in). Due to the wide range, this scanner is often employed in mining (open-cast mining). Due to the integrated 70 megapixel digital camera, color information is captured additionally during scanning. The scans can be started and stopped on a tablet PC by means of a cable connection. The captured data can be saved on external devices due to an USB port. Maptek I-Site 8800 is equipped with internal NiMH batteries which allow a duration of 3 hours. Optionally usable lithium ion batteries allow a duration of approx. 4.5 hours. The 3D laser scanner can be used for mobile mapping.
