Lixel Cyber Color Studio

TitleLixel Cyber Color Studio – Realistic 3D visualization on a whole new level
Lixel Cyber Color Studio (LCC Studio) is software from XGRIDS for realistic representation of 3D scenes based on the 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) process.
Use your scan data and transform it into photorealistic environments – ideal for presentations, customer communication, and project visualizations. With LCC Studio, you can offer your customers a new dimension of representation: vivid, detailed, and immersive.
TitleWorkflow with LCC Studio
After capturing an area or object with an XGRIDS scanner, you can easily import the folder containing the raw data into LCC Studio. Then select the desired level of detail for your model – the rest happens automatically.
The scene is calculated using the complex Gaussian splatting method. As a rough rule of thumb, about 3 minutes of scanning time requires around 1 hour of post-processing, depending on the level of detail and computing power.
TitleFeatures of LCC Studio
Parameters for model generation in LCC Studio
Reconstruction Settings:
Choose between a fast reconstruction with lower resource consumption and slightly reduced texture quality, or a high-quality representation with higher time and computing requirements. Depending on your project requirements, you can find the ideal balance between speed and visual precision here.
Video Memory Limit:
Determine the maximum amount of video memory that may be used for 3DGS reconstruction. This value directly influences the size and complexity of the point clouds that can be processed – important for systems with limited graphics memory.
Portability:
When enabled, the file size is automatically compressed to optimize playback on mobile devices or in web applications. If the option is disabled, you benefit from more realistic lighting effects – with a possible impact on performance on weaker hardware.
Loop Closure:
This feature improves the accuracy of your point cloud by intelligently closing scan loops. This is particularly useful for tours or paths that return to the starting point.
PPR (Points per Ray):
A PPR value that is too high can lead to artifacts and blurred edges in one-sided scans, for example on trees or buildings. Reduce the value if such artifacts occur. For best results, we recommend capturing data from different angles and heights.
High-precision 3D models – in just a few clicks
With LCC Studio, you can quickly transform your scan data from the Lixel K1 or Lixel L2 Pro scanner into a realistic 3D model. After importing your raw data into the software, simply select the desired level of detail – the rest runs automatically in the background.
The Reconstruction Settings allow you to decide whether the focus is on fast processing or maximum detail. Additional parameters such as video RAM usage, portability for mobile devices, or loop closure help you tailor the model to your needs.
Intuitive navigation in first-person perspective
Experience your environment up close with smooth first-person navigation directly in the model. Move around using the keyboard (W, A, S, D) and control your view with the mouse. Use the Q and E keys to ascend or descend and explore your scene from every angle.
Walk through the scene with digital avatars
For an immersive experience, LCC Studio offers the option of walking through your scene with a digital avatar. The approximately 1.55m tall humanoid robot can be controlled intuitively with a mouse and keyboard and adds a playful component to your project – ideal for presentations or virtual tours.
Realistic collision effects for immersive applications
When exporting, LCC Studio creates a collision file in addition to the main file (.META.lcc), which can be seamlessly integrated into game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity. This allows realistic interactions to be implemented directly, for example for simulations, gamification, or training applications.
Tools for editing and analysis
LCC Studio offers numerous tools for model editing:
With the Clipping Tool, you can cut specific sections out of a model for export or further processing. The integrated measuring tool allows precise point-to-point, distance, or area measurements. In addition, notes can be placed directly in the model, including titles, descriptions, images, videos, and external links. Ideal for communication, planning, or documentation.
Connect scenes and create portals
Switch between different areas of your project with a single click – for example, from an exterior to an interior model. Using portals, you can logically link different LCC files in LCC Studio and map complex environments.
Easily integrate external models
Expand your scene by importing external 3D models in .fbx, .glb, or .obj formats. Whether it's furnishings, machinery, or additional information, this allows you to add even more depth and context to your visualization.
Share online, collaborate
Easily make your models available online – for customers, partners, or colleagues. The web view allows viewing, measuring, and commenting directly in the browser – without any additional software. This improves collaboration and speeds up approval processes.
Manage access rights and control models
Determine exactly who can view your models: share them with the public, release them selectively via a link, or take them offline again at any time. Management is carried out centrally via the LCC Studio cloud environment.
Flexible export formats for every application
Whether for further processing or archiving, LCC Studio supports various output formats: Export your data as a native .lcc file, as .ply for Gaussian splatting, or as an .obj file for classic 3D workflows. Mesh models can also be output to ensure maximum compatibility with external tools.
Capture and present camera movements
Capture and present camera movements If you want to present your projects professionally, the animator tool in Lixel Cyber Color Studio offers just the right solution. Place your camera (POV) at any position within your 3D model and create keyframes.
The software then generates a smooth camera movement between these viewpoints – ideal for guided tours, project presentations, or visual documentation.
Export your camera movement as a video in Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels) in the common MP4 format – perfect for sharing with customers, for internal coordination, or for marketing purposes.
Map Fusion
If you want to capture a large area or object with the XGRIDS scanners, it is recommended to divide the total area into several smaller scans. These individual scans can then be merged in the software.
For successful merging of the scans, it is necessary that either:
- all scans were captured with the RTK module, or
- identical control points were used in each scan.
Ground + Areial Map Fusion
This feature combines aerial UAV imagery with ground scans to create complete 3D models of large environments. By merging both perspectives, the models capture both architectural overviews and precise ground details – ideal for comprehensive documentation of terrain, building complexes, construction sites, and historical sites.
HD Enhancement
For an even more detailed LCC model, you can add images taken with a digital camera or smartphone during the editing process.
You can incorporate JPG, JEPG, or PNG images into the editing process with up to 500 photos.
Spatial Recognition
This feature automatically detects walls, doors, windows, and other building elements in interior scans and creates a clearly structured floor plan. Ideal for room analysis, renovation planning, and BIM applications.
This feature is currently available in combination with the LCC for Revit plug-in.
