FARO Blink combines the advantages of a stationary scanner with mobile SLAM technology:

TitleWorkflow with FARO Blink
The FARO Blink was specially developed for easy and fast operation – and this is immediately obvious when you use it. The entire scanner can be controlled intuitively with just a single button.
However, if you want more control and insight into the scanning process, you can also use the FARO Stream app, which provides advanced control and a real-time view of the scans.
TitleScanner design
FARO Blink features a newly developed adapter with three practical locking settings: one position for attaching and removing the scanner, one for secure locking and rotation, and a special scanning position. In this position, the scanner must not be moved manually during operation.
In addition, an integrated tilt sensor is built in, which enables the scanner to operate flawlessly even when tilted – ideal for uneven terrain or spontaneous use.
TitleOperation
Scanning is performed either via the FARO Stream app, which is available for both Android and iOS, or directly on the scanner using one-button operation. There is no built-in display.
If you want to capture another viewpoint, the app helps you determine the optimal distance: an acoustic signal or the display on your smartphone informs you as soon as you are within the ideal measuring range.
In stand-alone mode, the scanner flashes yellow to signal this moment – a huge help, especially for beginners.
TitleData transfer & collaboration
There are various ways to transfer data. You can download the scans manually using the SSD stick provided or conveniently upload the data to the FARO Sphere Cloud using the FARO Stream app. From there, the point clouds can be processed directly in FARO Scene or WebShare.
This takes collaboration with project participants to a whole new level: scan data can be viewed, shared, and explored in real time worldwide in any standard web browser – without having to send large data packages. This ensures faster decisions and greater efficiency throughout the project.
Seamless data synchronization between DataHub, WebShare, and FARO Sphere ensures that everyone involved is always working with the latest project status.
With FARO SyncAgent, you can download your projects from Sphere, open them in Scene, and perform the final registration there.
Changes are then automatically synchronized with the cloud, keeping all team members up to date.
