Pointools Ltd. has concluded a licensing deal with Bentley Systems, Inc. which allows the integration of the Pointools Vortex API engine into the Bentley platform. Especially the software MicroStation, one of the leading planning tools in the market, will benefit from the cooperation: for the users it will be easier to load rapid and to work with point clouds.
Faraz Ravi, Co-founder and CEO of Pointools, explains to the Directions Magazine: “Bentley selected us because of our industry-leading performance, because they know point clouds always look best and load fastest in the Pointools environment.”
Users in different application areas, like plant engineering and design, automotive industry, construction and architecture, power supply and utility, chemical and process industry, will be able to solve planning tasks easier and more effective by working with point clouds in MicroStation. So the cooperation between Bentley and Pointools is trend-setting. The Laser scanning that enables fast and cost-saving as-built documentation will be used as surveying and documentation tool more often in the future.
