I have just purchased a faro 120 scanner, but I'm not getting brilliant results with b/w targets!
In your experience will I get better quality results using spheres with your mini prism than with bl-white target recognition???
if so what is the difference between the adaptor
short, long, precise carbon??
Dear Ewo,
checkerboard target are good for placing on facades and other flat objects.
In general are registration spheres are better as checkerboard targets.
The reference spheres are allows to fit the middle point of the target very precise from all directions in same quality.
Checkerboard (black / white target) are working only perfect, if you look in a frontal view on it.
If you have a small view angle to the flat target, the accuracy of fitting the checkerbord target can be worse.
To the adapter topic:
whit the short adapter you can fit a small magnet on it. By long and carbonic version is the inlay of sphere adapter much more deeper. Same customer like to make permanent targets (like bolts). Then you need that adpater to put the sphere on the steel bolt. In sammuary: standart adapter is ok, if you place the registrations spheres free. adapter long for placing for bolt or using mini prisma to survey the center of sphere by total station,
