First Day of the US Laser Scanning-Conference SPAR 2012 (Houston)

Today is the opening day of the SPAR 2012 in Houston (Texas). In North America, the SPAR conference is the biggest event on the subject of laser scanning, mobile mapping and further 3D issues. About 100 speakers, 1000 visitors and 60 exhibitors attend the conference. The SPAR is the leading event on the subject of laser scanning in the USA.

What’s more, Laserscanning Europe GmbH and its American subsidiary Laserscanning America are represented there. Among others, we introduce the new PointCab features for the webexport at SPAR. These features include HTML panoramas on many mobile devices, such as iPad, iPhone and other tablet PCs, as well as the PDF export.

The new PointCab features in detail:

1. 64bit with multiprocessor support – up to 50% more processing speed of your data
2. Online license for renting available – Lease PointCab easily and quickly
3. DXF export – Import PointCab results easily in many CAD systems, e. g. Autodesk products (Autocad, Revit) as well as Nemetschek, Allplan
4. PointCab is available in the most important languages (German, English, Italian, Russian, French, Spanish)
5. New HTML export – Support of the newest internet technologies due to PointCab software
6. Panoramas on the iPad, iPhone and on Android systems – For the first time, use laser scanner panoramas easily on mobile devices in the browser without special apps (smooth zooming of layouts, ortho photos and measuring features integrated)
7. PDF export – Output laser scanning projects as a scaled PDF and, thus, send and print it

The functionality of using laser scanner data on the iPad and iPhone without installing an app is a world novelty. Data can easily and directly be opened in the browser of the Apple devices.

Furthermore, we present our extensive laser scanner accessories, such as reference spheres, tripods and the brand-new overhead tripod for the FARO Focus3D laser scanner.

We are looking forward to three interesting and exciting days on the exhibition in America.
