As of now, the 360° panoramic camera iSTAR from NCTech and the software solutions Arena4D and Spherevision allow to take easy measurements.
The first release of this new additional function, that is based on a third-party software solution, was introduced at SPAR in USA this year. Due to easy handling of both measurement solutions, there is no need for great know-how. You just need an iSTAR Fusion camera with the current firmware update version 2.3.10 installed and one of the software solutions above-mentioned.
The accuracy of your measurements depends on image quality, distance to the area to be measured, resolution and stitching errors. You should use a high resolution to get the best possible result.
The videos below show the easy workflow for creating both images which are required for measurement. Both last videos show how easily the measurement function is integrated in both third-party software solutions Arena4D and Spherevision.
