With the new PointCab version 1.4, we have realised many customer requirements.
The new features are:
* Full 64-bit support
The newest version uses more main memory and the power of the multiprocessor of your computer. Thus, PointCab analyses and interprets your point clouds in a breathtaking speed. Benefit from the results in PointCab while other applications still import scan data.
* Colour support
Generate your facade plans in colour, now. With the integrated colour option, you benefit from the advantages of your scan data in new dimensions. Coloured images permit to identify more details and to perform a vectorisation of your scan data easier and more precise.
* Batch-mode processing
Define your floor plans and cuts and add them to a list for batch-mode processing. Benefit from the complete overview over the set calculation parameters and align them afterwards, if required. No matter whether 5 orders or more – let the computer work for you and devote yourself to more important duties!
* The new PointCab Sketch module
With the new module Sketch, you measure distances effectively and calculate surfaces in floor plans and cut surfaces. Easily create layout plans by insetting texts. You get a detailed overview with the new panorama viewer. Due to the conjunction with the floor plan and a location-based choice of the panoramic view, you navigate much more clearly and through very large projects, now.
* The new PointCab Web export module
The Web export module allows for the export of floor plans and cut surfaces as HTML document for your web site. No complex web applications or server solutions are required. A simple web browser is adequate. The exported layout plans can be zoomed steplessly in your internet browser. With the generated panoramic views, you easily present the single views of the scans in the internet (based on Adobe Flash).
* Merger module
With PointCab, you can create large floor plans and cuts on very under-performing computer systems, too. This is achieved by a fragmentation into small images. With the PointCab Merger module, you can combine the single PointCab images customer-specifically to a large image. This enables users to analyse and interpret large laser scanning projects more simply using modern computer engineering and to import it into your CAD system without any more ado.
* Language selection
With the language selection, you can simply switch between German and English. Further languages will follow.
* PointCab – RIEGL data import V-Line
The newest version supports the whole data import of RIEGL’s V-Line reliably. Thus, all customers of RIEGL Laser Measurements can directly process the data in PointCab. Beside RIEGL, data of the company FARO is supported by the manufacturer, too. Scan data of other scanner manufacturers can be imported by using the data exchange formats PTX and PTG.
