RIEGL Newsletter Juli 2011

RIEGL in Austria has acquired (as per June 2011 and through a newly established holding company) the majority of shares of Riegl USA Inc., that have been held up to now by Mr. Ted Knaak, its founder and long-time president. With RIEGL in Austria being the majority owner, the further development and growth of Riegl USA can be managed now more efficiently by taking advantages of synergies between the two firms. It is also a thrilling option to serve South American markets even better in the future in close cooperation with the Riegl USA office in Florida.

Another good news - our newly built production hall in Horn has been completed and put into operation. It now enables us to work more efficiently as it offers enough space for an optimized workflow. We will give you some more detailed information as well as some photos later on in this newsletter.

Now, let us leave Austria. Sales Manager Thomas Gaisecker went to South America for a demo tour with the terrestrial laser scanner VZ-1000. We would like to share some impressions of this interesting trip with you and also to take the opportunity to let you know more about our distribution partner GEOCOM in Chile.

At the same time, our team went to Cracow to participate at the International Mobile Mapping Symposium with the mobile scanning system VMX-250. Find out more about the event and further projects that were conducted in Poland in the respective article.

In the Members Area on our website (www.riegl.com/members-area) you will find a new software library for download, RiWaveLib, providing an easy access to full waveform data. It will be introduced shortly here in this newsletter.

End of September, it is INTERGEO time again - the most important trade show for us is approaching and we would like to give you a first forecast of it already now. Have a look at the respective article in order to catch a glimpse of our new booth design and to get some more details about our participation.
